چکیده

Abtract A linear self-calibration method is given for computing the calibration of a stationary but rotating camera. The internal parameters of the camera are allowed to vary from image to image, allowing for zooming (change of focal length) and possible variation of the principal point of the camera. In order for calibration to be possible some constraints must be placed on the calibration of each image. The method works under the minimal assumption of zero-skew (rectangular pixels), or the more restrictive but reasonable conditions of square pixels, known pixel aspect ratio, and known principal point. Being linear, the algorithm is extremely rapid, and avoids the convergence problems characteristic of iterative algorithms.

A Multiple View Approach for Auto-Calibration of a Rotating and Zooming Camera∗

In this paper we deal with the problem of calibrating a rotating and zooming camera, without 3D pattern, whose internal calibration parameters change frame by frame. First, we theoretically show the existence of the calibration parameters up to an orthogonal transformation under the assumption that the skew of the camera is zero. Auto-calibration becomes possible by analyzing inter-image homogr...

Auto-Calibration of a Rotating and Zooming Camera

We propose a method to calibrate a rotating and zooming camera without 3D pattern, where the internal parameters change frame by frame. First, we show that the calibration is unique up to an orthogonal transformation under the assumption that the skew of the camera is zero. The auto-calibration is possible by analyzing inter-image homographies computed from the matches in the images of the same...

Self-calibration of zooming cameras from a single viewpoint

A con guration which commonly occurs in many imaging applications is that of a camera whose optic centre is xed in location but which may freely rotate while changing its internal parameters by zooming. This is the case in applications such as surveillance, broadcasting and panoramic viewing, where a wide eld of view is captured from a single viewpoint by rotating a camera which is typically mo...

Calibration of an Outdoor Active Camera System

A parametric camera model and calibration procedures are developed for an outdoor active camera system with pan, tilt and zoom control. Unlike traditional methods, active camera motion plays a key role in the calibration process, and no special laboratory setups are required. Intrinsic parameters are estimated automatically by fitting parametric models to the optic flow induced by rotating and ...

About the Self-Calibration of a Rotating and Zooming Camera: Theory and Practice

This paper deals with first the uniqueness of the selfcalibration of a rotating and zooming camera theoretically. We assume that the principal point and the aspect ratio are fixed but the focal length changes as the camera moves. In this case, at least one inter-image homography is required in order to compute the internal calibration parameters as well as the rotation. Secondly, we analyze the...
